Over 67,000 have signed a petition calling on Sinn Féin to back a ban on cruel hare coursing.
Earlier this year, party president Mary Lou McDonald TD announced that “Sinn Féin is opposed to foxhunting and we will vote in favour of a ban at the next opportunity.” The party has also backed a ban on cruel fur farming. It is time for Sinn Féin to now pledge support for a ban on hare coursing - a bloodsport which 77% of Irish citizens want banned (with just 9% against a ban).
