POLITICAL FOCUS: Noel Rock TD (Fine Gael, Dublin North West). In June 2019 he stated: "I believe we should end greyhound breeding for racing". Less than six months later, he voted in favour of another €84 million grant to horse and greyhound racing (€16.8 million for greyhound racing). In three of the past four years, he has voted in favour of the Horse and Greyhound Racing Fund Regulations which granted €80 million/€80 million/€84 million of taxpayers’ money to horse and greyhound racing. In June 2019, he tweeted: "I never had a pro hare coursing stance!" - this despite the fact that in 2016, he voted AGAINST proposed legislation which sought to ban cruel hare coursing...

In June 2016, Noel Rock was among the 114 TDs who voted against Deputy Maureen O'Sullivan's bill which sought to ban cruel hare coursing.
In December 2016, 2017 and 2019, voted in favour of the Horse and Greyhound Racing Fund Regulations which granted €80 million/€80 million/€84 million of taxpayers' money to horse and greyhound racing.
