"THE QUARRY IS FOX": A shameful 6-day hunting festival in Limerick and Kerry, starting this Sunday, will see foxes being chased by hunters and hounds and torn apart when caught.

The “Abbeyfeale Harriers Annual Hunting Festival” is being disgracefully publicised in the Abbeyfeale parish newsletter https://abbeyfealefestivals.wordpress.com/2019/02/ as well as in a report in The Kerryman which states that "hunting is on foot and the quarry is fox".

The report reveals that every day, from Sunday to Friday, hunts are meeting outside local pubs before setting out on foot with their dogs to terrorise and brutally kill defenceless foxes. Food for the hunters is being “kindly sponsored by the publicans”.

Shame on these publicans for providing free food to foxhunters. Please join us in contacting the pubs in question and urging them to withdraw their support for this disgusting bloodsport festival. We are today renewing an appeal on the government to introduce a ban on foxhunting - please help by responding to the action alert below.

Write to your TDs at: Dail Eireann, Leinster House, Kildare Street, Dublin 2. Tel: 01-618 3000 or 1890 337 889. Please also arrange a meeting with your TDs at their local clinics.

Keep hunters off your land

If you are a landowner, make your land off-limits to hunters. Find out more about how to do this on our Farmers/Landowners Page - http://www.banbloodsports.com/farmers.htm Encourage all land-owning friends and family members in the countryside to show compassion and make their land a haven for wildlife. If hunters are denied access to land, the wildlife will be spared the suffering of cubhunting and foxhunting.
