Friends, Lana Popham just became our new Minister of Agriculture! This is huge progress towards banning battery cages. See news on the swearing in ceremony and the entire cabinet here: http://vancouversun.com/news/local-news/b-c-ndp-cabinet-2017-john-horgan-will-be-sworn-in-as-36th-premier I want to thank all of you for who emailed and phoned Horgan’s team, and Sophie Collins for her work on the petition to appoint Lana Minister. We came together and fought exceptionally well. We took the first key step in banning battery cages - we helped appoint a minister that supports this initiative. Now it’s up to us to make sure she follows through and with an efficient transition to be 100% cage-free. For those of you who weren’t able to contact Horgan’s team, don’t worry, you’ll have many opportunities to take action in the months ahead. We did a lot of work to get Lana as Minister, but we’re going to have to do even more to finally ban battery cages. I’ll keep you in touch through these updates and you can always email me personally, but I’d suggest you like our Facebook page too: https://www.facebook.com/Cage-Free-BC-1840004186274923/ Thank you again for all your hard work, here’s looking forward to the months ahead.
