Friends, The election results are absolutely incredible for our movement! With the BC NDP and BC Greens both supporting our petition and together holding more seats than the Liberals, we could finally ban battery cages. Recounts will be made in some ridings and absentee votes have yet to be counted. It is unknown whether the Liberals will remain in their current minority government or be pushed into a majority. For now, all we can do is hope. But let me say this - if the final results turn out to be the current Liberal minority, we have the ultimate chance to actually ban battery cages and all other cages confining hens. If this is indeed the case I will fight like never before to make sure this happens, and I know all of you will too. The final results for this election will be known in the coming weeks (around May 22). Until then, feel free to email me if you have any input or questions on how we can move forward: nedtaylor27@gmail.com In solidarity, Ned Taylor P.S. Our official Parliament petition being presented in Ottawa has breached 1,000 signatures! Let’s push it to 2,000 and show our federal government that this issue needs immediate attention.
