Hello everyone, Many of you in the last update contacted me and asked if we could now focus on our current Minister of Agriculture, Norm Letnick. We are now going to do exactly that. Just like when i made the update to contact your local MLA, I'll give you step-by-step instructions on what to do when contacting Norm Letnick, our Minister of Agriculture. If you live in or around Kelowna (which is where his riding of Kelowna - Lake Country is) I hope you could take the time to call his office and ask for a meeting. If you live anywhere else in BC or anywhere else in Canada, I hope you could take the time to email him. Instructions for emailing: 1. Send your email to both his addresses, his Minister email and his MLA email. MLA: norm.letnick.MLA@leg.bc.ca Minister: AGR.Minister@gov.bc.ca 2. When emailing, talk about the terrible conditions for the animals as well as the food safety risks for consumers. Feel free to use the description for this petition when talking about both. Also feel free to use the following line when talking about the food safety risks: "A study by the European Food Safety Agency, which analyzed data from 5,000 egg farms in over 20 countries found that eggs from battery hens were twenty-five times more likely to carry salmonella infection than uncaged free run hens!" 3. Inform him of this petition and the fact that he is one of the main decision makers for it. Be sure to link the petition in your email. If you are a constituent of Norm, be sure to state this and ask specifically if you can meet with your MLA. If you are not a constituent, ask if you can meet with your Minister of Agriculture. 3.
