Ban Artificial Food Dyes in Indian Children’s Products — #DyeFreeIndia

Ban Artificial Food Dyes in Indian Children’s Products — #DyeFreeIndia
The Issue
Our children are being poisoned in plain sight.
Millions of Indian children are consuming packaged foods and drinks laced with artificial dyes like Red 40, Yellow 5, and Blue 1 — chemicals linked to behavioral disorders, enamel erosion, gum inflammation, allergic reactions, and even DNA damage.
Recently President Donald Trump & Health Sec. RFK Jnr Cracked down heavily on food companies to remove artificial food dyes from American food supply. Some companies either already stopped or pledged to phase out the harmful dyes in next few years.
These dyes are banned or heavily restricted in the U.S. and Europe, yet still freely used in Indian products marketed directly to kids. Why should Indian children be exposed to toxic additives already removed from Western markets?
This double standard is a silent health crisis
If this continues, we risk a generation facing rising levels
Hyperactivity and ADHD-like symptoms in children
✅ Behavioral changes and anxiety
✅ Allergic reactions
✅ Enamel staining and gum inflammation
✅ Potential genotoxicity (DNA damage)
✅ Hormonal disruption and cancer risk in some animal studies
Now is the time to act
Public awareness is growing. Scientific evidence is mounting. If food companies can reformulate for American kids, they can — and must — do the same for Indian kids. We must urge the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and multinational food brands to ban these harmful dyes, adopt natural alternatives, and stop the toxic double standards.
Let’s demand dye-free food for every child — not just the privileged few.
