Growing up, I developed a deep love and respect for animals. Whether I was watching documentaries about wild creatures or bonding with my pets at home, animals have always held a special place in my heart. That’s why it’s so painful to know that countless animals continue to suffer in laboratories every year through painful—and often fatal—experiments.

Despite significant scientific progress, animal testing remains a widespread practice. In Australia, current laws still allow animals to be used in testing for various products and research purposes. These animals endure extreme suffering, all in the name of progress that could be achieved through more humane means.

Around the world, countries like Norway, India, and members of the European Union have taken a firm stand by banning cosmetic animal testing—proving that effective and ethical alternatives exist. Technologies such as in vitro testing, computer modeling, and advanced imaging techniques now offer reliable, cruelty-free results.

According to Humane Society International, millions of animals globally are subjected to testing each year. This harrowing statistic is a powerful reminder that we must act now.
