As a 16-year-old boy who was exposed to pornography at a young age, I am deeply aware of its detrimental effects on the brain. I find it distressing to see both children and adults accessing extreme or even illegal content on X (formerly Twitter). X's current policy towards pornography is weak and ineffective, fostering an environment where harmful and illegal material such as celebrity deepfakes, child sexual abuse, and content depicting rape and sexual assault proliferate without sufficient moderation.

The unregulated nature of such explicit content on X also means it remains accessible to minors. Many young users, like myself, have stumbled upon this type of content, which can have harmful and lasting impacts on their mental health and wellbeing. More importantly, it exposes them to inappropriate and illegal materials that no child should ever encounter.

These issues extend beyond personal discomfort. Celebrity deepfakes and illegal explicit content involving minors are serious crimes that abuse and endanger victims' rights and safety. Without stringent policies and enforcement, X risks being a platform that indirectly supports these heinous acts.

To address these significant concerns, X must take immediate action to ban all forms of pornography. This includes implementing more effective moderation tools that can automatically detect and remove explicit and illegal content. Additionally, stronger age verification processes should be in place to prevent minors from accessing any remaining adult content that complies with whatever defined standards remain.

By establishing a safe and regulated environment, X can safeguard its users, especially the young and vulnerable, from the harmful impact of pornography.
