The Issue

I am a 100% disabled veteran and a father who has been denied access to justice, not for the lack of evidence, but for the perceived quality of my legal filings. My meticulously prepared submissions were struck down because they were deemed "too good"—a groundless assumption that I used artificial intelligence to draft them. This action undermined my right to be heard and effectively discriminated against me without a shred of evidence, hearing, or due process. This isn't justice. It's discrimination.

Such practices hurt pro se and disabled litigants, striking at the heart of our judicial system, which is supposed to uphold fairness and equality for all. Whether someone is using advanced tools for assistance or not, their right to present their case should never be dismissed based on subjective biases or assumptions about their capability based on how "well" a document is written.

The courts' increasing tendency toward "AI suspicion" is a troubling phenomenon that challenges the fundamental right of access to justice. This issue extends far beyond my experience. It threatens every American's right to be heard in court, irrespective of their abilities, financial standing, or tools used to communicate. We must take a stand to ensure that the judicial process remains free of discrimination and that every individual's submissions are judged solely on merit, not on conjectured technological influence.

We are calling for a ban on the practice of rejecting court filings based on "AI suspicion." This is not merely about protecting one individual but safeguarding a cornerstone of democratic society—the right to a fair hearing. Let us ensure that everyone, regardless of their situation, has the ability to access justice equally and without prejudices veiled under technological suspicion.

Please join me in this fight to preserve the right to be heard clearly, fairly, and equally. Sign this petition to prevent doubt and discrimination from overshadowing justice in our courts.
