I am compelled to share a personal experience that has deeply affected my life and the lives of many women around me. My female friends and I, hailing from both native and immigrant backgrounds, have unfortunately been victims of harassment, intimidation, and even violence at the hands of male migrants, particularly from Muslim backgrounds, in various public and private settings across Europe. This ordeal is not just about isolated incidents, but a growing trend that jeopardizes the sanctity and safety of the continent, which should serve as a refuge and haven for women of all origins.

The statistics are sobering, with a significant increase in crimes against women attributed to male migrants in several European countries. For instance, countries like Germany, Sweden and Italy have reported hikes in such incidents, suggesting a pervasive issue. Although it is undeniable that native men can and do commit crimes against women, reports indicate that the rate of offenses by migrant men is disproportionately higher than that of their native counterparts. These realities present an untenable situation for European nations, which pride themselves on being progressive and safe spaces for all citizens, especially women.

Addressing this crisis requires decisive action. I propose a policy to semi-permanently ban adult male migrants from entering the European Union until a robust system is established to ensure that those arriving on the continent respect and adhere to Europe's core values and legal frameworks. This temporary ban would allow European countries to implement comprehensive integration programs that emphasize respect for women's rights and the importance of gender equality in society. Particularly, emphasis should be placed on creating awareness about cultural differences and expectations.

Furthermore, we need enhanced screening processes that not only assess the potential economic contributions of migrants but also their history and propensity for respectful coexistence. While this measure may seem extreme to some, it is a necessary step toward ensuring that the cultural and social integrity of Europe remains intact, and that women can feel safe and secure in their daily lives.
