"Updates on the latest changes introduced by the NSW Government" The following changes to the existing Workers Compensation legislation came into effect on 16 October 2015 and apply retrospectively from 5 August 2015: Increased lump sum compensation payment for workers with at least 11% permanent impairment or at least 15% permanent impairment for psychological injuriesIncreased death benefit lump sum amount from $524,000 to $750,000Increased maximum for funeral expenses from up to $9,000 to up to $15,000Injured workers are now entitled to up to 12 months of weekly payments of compensation after reaching retiring age, whether they lodged their claim before or their claim before or after after 1 October 2012.
