First visit from a REPORTER yesterday.

I have shared the information about this proposed rule change with the first reporter or rather Editor, who interviewed me yesterday .

I have drawn attention to our online petition and the comments that you have made in support.

  I have tried to make it clear that this is really very simple.    

  The Council are suggesting a change in the historic rules that allow Licensed Traders in Upper Gardner Street in Brighton, to spread their displays sideways beyond their pitch boundaries. Provided that there is no other Trader licensed for that number pitch present on that day. 

We do not want, or see a need for, a change to disallow this.

Avoiding of course, spreading forward or out into the road beyond the marked lines, thereby leaving access for emergency vehicles. 

That is all I am hoping to achieve with this petition. 

There are no other issues that I am currently concerned about or attempting to deal with. 

HOWEVER ;  it is the nature of projects such as this that given the opportunity to express opinions or points of view, other issues will be raised.  Platforms such as this enable folk to raise related matters about which are concerned.  That is far enough and to be expected.  There are many valid points expressed in peoples comments and responses to this petition.  All are welcome. 

Anything else that surfaces from the valuable comments that you folk have been making can be raised and dealt with another time once this thing is sorted.  

The same will be true of any other issues that the Reporter may have picked up and may want to mention. 

There are, I don't doubt other news worthy issues of local interest about this and other markets and street traders, currently I only have this one.  Thank you for you valued and continued support.
