Over the weekend, the Opposition vowed that, if elected, they would axe the tampon tax, removing the GST on women’s essential sanitary products. So now’s the time for us to put pressure on the Turnbull government. Please e-mail Treasurer Scott Morrison and ask him to repeal the GST on women’s sanitary products -- these aren’t a luxury. These products are essential for women and, as the Deputy Opposition Leader said over the weekend, “If you can find an exemption for condoms, lubricant, viagra, then I think you can find an exemption for tampons”.
