Last November, we asked you to get behind our campaign to make sure Awaab Ishak had a lasting legacy.

News of the two-year-old's death, after prolonged exposure to mould in a social flat where the landlord failed to help, angered us - and it angered you too.

Almost 175,000 of you have now signed our petition for Awaab's Law, to ensure families in social housing did not have to suffer helplessly with damp and mould.

Thanks to you, we're on the cusp of victory. As Awaab's dad, Faisal Abdullah, acknowledged: "Your support has stopped us feeling alone during this hard time."

This afternoon, MPs will debate amendments to the Social Housing (Regulation) Bill which have been put forward by housing secretary Michael Gove following our campaign.

Awaab's Law is so close - and today is a huge milestone on the road to victory.

We're urging MPs to support the Bill and calling on the government to live up to its promises as soon as possible.
