The issue

More often new laws are rushed through the Senate without proper consultation with the community or debate, highlighting the deep-rooted issue of lack of transparency and accountability in Australian politics. It is deeply concerning that our elected officials can pass significant legislation without being held accountable for their actions or words.

For Australians to trust their politicians, that trust must be earned. Honesty and integrity have been missing from our political landscape for too long. It is unacceptable that politicians can lie or mislead the public without consequence, eroding the foundation of trust necessary for our democracy to thrive.

The Anti=Semitism in Australia is continuing to grow with more attacks which the Police often ignore.  Some people wear Nazi swastika clothing with impunity.  And our Government lied to us continually regarding the ISIS Brides; 'no, we will not assist with repatriating them' but secretly they did assist.  Our living standards are dropping on a daily basis.  The Govt blames the Wars in the Middle East but our problems began before then.  And now this Labor Government will commit $30 million to Fiji so we can help keep their fuel prices down.  That money should be assisting Australia in rebuilding our refineries, drilling for oil and making us self-sufficient as we once were.    Everything is smoke and mirrors.

Labor does NOT have a mandate to alter Negative Gearing and Capital Gains Tax.  PM Albanese continually claimed that he was sick of the same question, giving the same answer 'for the 50th time'  that there would be NO Changes.   Now it is happening and being called 'Intergenerational Change' which is supposed to help young Australians get into the housing market by taking from the elderly.  But all it will do is push up rents and inflation and slow down the market of building houses.  This will actually hurt our young people, not help them.  It is a tax as the Govt is in so much debt.  I have children who wish to own a home and grandchildren who will soon enough wish to do so as well.  But Labor are not interested in helping Australia; everything is political to them.

Political honesty is crucial not only for the strengthening of our democratic institutions but also for fostering unity and understanding among citizens. We cannot hope to address national and societal challenges unless our leaders are held to the highest standards of truthfulness and transparency.

At this time it is currently legal for politicians to lie to the Australian public even during Election campaigns.   It is compulsory for Australians to vote in elections.   How are we to make an informed decision when lodging our vote at the ballot box without the certainty of what our politicians advocate?

I wish to see the end of Preferential Voting as I believe the Australian people want who they vote for to win, not see a party with less primary votes win due to dealmaking with other parties.  This makes the voting process more complicated especially for new Australians who are learning our language and find our Electoral process confusing.  It is unfair to all of us.

This petition seeks to make it illegal for politicians in Australia to intentionally lie or deceive the public at any time. Such an initiative is vital for restoring faith in our political system, ensuring that leaders act with honesty, and providing the public with the transparency they deserve.

Let us work towards a future where Australian politics is characterized by openness and accountability, where our leaders earn the trust of the people by speaking the truth. Please sign this petition to demand a change, to advocate for legislation that holds politicians accountable for their words and actions. Your signature is a step towards a transparent and trustworthy governance system whilst promoting safety and positivity in Australia.
