By now most would be aware that former Canadian Soldier and Afghanistan veteran Robert Somerville has been refused entry into Australia for spending time in the YPG. The excuse given by Australian Immigration authorities? He failed to disclose his Kurd "nom de guerre" on his immigration card. I've heard of some pearlers in my time for declining entry but that one definitely takes the biscuit. Meanwhile, ISIL sympathizers can waltz through customs and draw on the race or intolerance card if they are stopped for questioning by Immigration. Let's be honest, it happens every day.
As ANZAC Day approaches the Australian Government has to be on its best behaviour with Turkey. They may give us another Turkey slap if we are seen to be soft on the Kurds and hard on Daesh.
I call on all Australians who may be overseas right now and planning to return and even foreigners to mark in the little field "do you have any names other than the one above", simply mark "Heval Bagok".
