Hi everyone - it's been a long time since I've written to you. We've all been sitting quietly, holding our collective breath, feeling like we are on the brink of a 'win'. How sad that we can even consider it a win, when all we want to do is give a wee boy his best chance of growing into healthy adulthood, while being nurtured in a warm, happy, healing family unit. Unfortunately, the update I was hoping to write seems like it may not happen after all. The monster that is the 'system' is moving again. While all the official, and oh so polite, legal letters are buzzing around here, there and everywhere, there is a definite emphasis on being quiet. As far as I can see, there has been no personal denigration, from us to 'them'. Even those individuals that are on 'the dark side' are simply that, individuals that, we would hope and pray, honestly believe they are acting in the child's best interest. It is the system we are at odds with, a system that doesn't like being questioned. Yet, it does seem specifically it's the WA system. Senior oncs in other states have advised they would respect the family's wishes. Why can't ours??? In the meantime Oshin is improving very well. We see glimpses of the little boy he was before this nightmare began. We are even trying to source a little low-rider recumbent trike so he can get out and about and 'go fast' again. So he can feel the wind rustling through his beautiful hair that is starting to grow back. Nightmares that "they" are coming back to get him are still there, and if only we can get this port removed from his wee body so he can bath again, that'll be a massive step forward. I have a favour to ask of all the supporters in WA. An online petition can't be presented to parliament, so I have had the official form and wording prepared, but unfortunately I can't seem to attach it. Please could all WA supporters PM me, so I can email it out to you. I am asking if you could please print it out, sign it amongst yourselves and physically post it back to me. If you're inclined to take a copy to your local store, or gym, or day care centre that would be awesome. I will be in touch again in the next day or two.
