The well regarded Multiple Sclerosis Network of Care, Australia recently provided insight on this topic titled “What is Multiple Sclerosis - Towards Better Understandings” This evidence based patient centred commentary observes “new knowledge regarding significant relief from the most common MS symptoms arguably changes the dynamics of "the culture and value systems in which pwMS live'' and their associated Quality of Life perceptions – including their goals, expectations, standards and concerns”. The importance of decisions relating to all aspects of MS management being the responsibility of the person diagnosed with MS (in consultation with their medical advisors) is emphasised. It stresses their need to have ready access independent and unbiased information. All too often there are reports about a significant lack such information and/or misinformation - at times from otherwise seemingly trusted sources. Well worth a read at http://www.msnetwork.org/roadmap/whatisms.htm Peter Sullivan, on behalf of Multiple Sclerosis Network of Care, Australia http://www.msnetwork.org/index.htm
