Once again, a huge thank you at first, and this means all Sydney residents would be the first in Australia to enjoy extended freedom.
I have lobbied with the government to ensure that maximum possible freedom could return to Sydneysiders. These include an increased cap for a series of activities, removal of travel distance limit, and even including international travel no later than November 14.
Right now, NSW has reached 90% of first dose coverage for the eligible population, and this petition helped NSW's second dose coverage move ahead of ACT. According to the relevant agency's estimates, this petition directly or indirectly influenced 100 thousand population in Sydney alone. This means we could hit the 80% double dose target within October!
This is such a great achievement, and let's go emotional this time. I understand how hard you feel withstanding prolonged lockdown and international border closure, and I am glad I could help Australia to shape the opening plan so that relief could return as soon as possible.
Although I did not leave any contact information here, I still received several thank messages. One of them comes from a small girl. Her mom has been working outside Australia and has been unable to see her since early 2020. I told her that your mom would soon be able to unite with you, and she will be so proud of you because you did so well at school.
In a bigger picture, Australia's first dose coverage rate has already surpassed the US, EU and will soon be catching up with the UK. The vaccination rate of Australia is among the fastest within major western countries, and the vaccine rollout proved to be a huge blast.
When the freedom returns, remember to tell all people you know to obey the rules and urge them to get vaccinated as soon as possible if they have not already done so. With the latest prediction figure, the NSW could hit 96% first dose coverage and 88% second dose coverage at last, which means this lockdown could be the last we need to go.
Keep on the excellent work, and I hope other states and territories can soon reach the 80% target. I may declare victory once NSW hits its 80% vaccination target, and it's up to the government to decide whether to implement my proposed lineup on that once-in-a-lifetime moment!
