On Friday 24 June, the Australian Labor Party announced that if elected, it would review the backpacker tax. It did not announce any delay of the tax pending the outcome of that review. This means that if Labor is elected, the backpacker tax is scheduled to start on 1 July. We call on Labor to commit to scrap the tax.
