We'd like to give a thumbs up to the Department of Health (DoH) team who recently hosted a workshop session titled "Bonded but not alone: translating policy into practical support" at the recent Rural Medicine Australia Conference on Friday 30 October 2017 in Melbourne. During the session, the DoH shared an overview into future directions of the Bonded Medical Places Scheme including plans for support to be provided to participants via state/territory workforce agencies and the new regional training hubs. The workshop generated constructive discussion among attendees, with several recommendations being made to inform DoH on how the Scheme could be improved. We look forward to seeing the Australian Government and DoH continue to engage stakeholders on the Scheme. Thank you to all those who have supported this petition. We will continue to campaign for a fair go for pre-2016 BMP medical students and doctors. Please continue to spread the word through your networks.
