The Victorian Gvt has announced that "their entire kangaroo culling program has been suspended.

Victoria has NOT confirmed that private permits have been cancelled, or that any permits relating to wombats, birds or other native animal deemed a 'pest' (possums, bats, etc) have been cancelled.

The South Australian Gvt has confirmed that "it would halt plans to slaughter wallabies on Kangaroo Island after one third of the island went up in flames."

This is NOT a state wide restriction, and again no confirmation that 'pest' eradication permits have been cancelled.

The Sth Australian gvt also stated that “In the harvest subregions affected by fire we will review the current allocated quotas once we have a better understanding of impacts.

This suggests that anyone with a current permit may continue as planned, until that review happens.

Other states are yet to commit, to what are now, essential preservation measures.

Halting ALL permits MUST become a federal standard at this time.
