Since Monday the 10th of May 2021, Hamas, the rulers of the Gaza Strip have indiscriminately fired over 2,000 rockets into Israel, and that number is rising every day. Hamas is classified as a terrorist organisation by Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Japan, the United States, European Union and United Kingdom.

Despite this, Australian and global media have reported recent events in a way that indicates both Israel and Hamas are responsible for the violence and that there is some kind of moral equivalency between Hamas and Israel. Lets be clear. Hamas is a terrorist organisation that openly and explicitly calls for the destruction of Israel and the death of every single Jew in the world. To quote Hamas's Founding Covenant, ""The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him".

Clearly, there is only one moral thing to do; stand wth Israel. And yet Free Palestine rallies are being held in Melbourne and across Australia, condemning Israel for defending its citizens. If this goes unchallenged, our government will get the message that the Australian people dont care about Israel at best or are pro Hamas at worst, and it will act accordingly. However, when we tried to organise a counter rally in the city, we were informed by Jewish security organisations that it is literally too dangerous for us to do so because there is a substantial risk that we would be physically attacked. The result? Anti Israel Pro Hamas radicals get to spread their message while our voices go unheard.

Sign this petition if you want our government to know that it is the will of the Australian people that Australia takes a moral stand against Hamas's genocidal ambitions. The more signatures this petition receives, the easier it will be for our government to declare it stands with Israel.
