Yaama! I hope you are doing well and looking forward to the Christmas and New Year break. It’s been a while since you last heard from me, but I have been working on some things in the background, regarding a possible collaboration between some organisations to create a traditional place name database that is cross-referenced with postcodes.

Please keep sharing the petition on your social media, so that we can keep the issue on the agenda until we receive a solid commitment from Australia Post

Winyama is a Western Australian, Indigenous owned and operated business that facilitates digital engagement of Indigenous people and communities. They are interested in getting involved and offering their expertise, particularly in regards to consultation with Elders and community leaders.

We are also speaking with Google, who had already created a partnership with Winyama, and are also keen to be involved and support this project - so we are building a great coalition of organisations who are interested in collaborating on the traditional places postcode database.

The organisations are finalising what they each can contribute and consulting internal stakeholders to get appropriate sign-offs. We will be meeting again soon to discuss further steps, and I look forward to sharing more exciting updates with you all.

Remember to keep sharing the petition on social media and tag Australia Post, so that they know how much support there is for the traditional place name database to happen

Thank you for all of your support!!
