Thank you so much to everyone who emailed Australia Post asking them to make public commitments to a national plan to include traditional place names in postage addresses. They reached out to schedule a meeting with me to chat about next steps.

In the meeting, Australia Post will be sharing their internal discussions with me and we’ll chat about the approach we can take to roll out the plan and disseminate details. I am feeling positive about the discussion. I expect that we will have a very clear timeline for when Australia Post can publish guidelines about including traditional place names as an outcome of the meeting.
Further, I’m keen to discuss tangible steps they can take to go about creating the database that cross-references postcodes to Indigenous places. I’ll keep you all posted as and when I learn more. This wouldn't have been possible without all of your support.
