We saw what happened to CodeNext with Adler as Mayor. He let the staff and consultants and an illegally constituted Planning Commission do what they wanted with CodeNext and only halted the project when it was obvious it would impact his re-election chances. Under Adler's leadership the failed project also grew from a $2 million contract to over $8 million.
CodeNext with a new name will be back after the election. If you want a different outcome, we must have a new mayor. Laura Morrison is experienced, smart and, most importantly, honest. She has a proven track record: during her two terms on the Austin City Council, Laura had a consistent record of standing up for inclusive and transparent government, respecting neighborhoods, and protecting the environment. She is committed to responsible use of our taxes and public lands and opposes corporate giveaways. (http://lauraformayor.com/accomplishments
Laura is known for her skill in bringing together competing interests to find solutions that work for everyone. Unlike our current Mayor who pushed a divisive new land development code until it was no longer politically feasible to do so, Laura will be a leader who listens to what we think.
Vote for Laura Morrison and Prop J.
