URGENT ACTION NEEDED TO PROTECT OUR PARKLAND!

Austin Neighbors, Private equity firm, Precourt Sports Ventures, LLC wants to build a 20,000-seat stadium for a Major League Soccer team on our public parkland! While we welcome professional soccer to Austin, we WILL NOT SACRIFICE OUR PRECIOUS PUBLIC PARKLAND for private corporate ventures. Given Austin’s rapid growth, we desperately need to expand our public parkland—not give it away! On February 15, the Austin City Council will consider a resolution by Council Member Ann Kitchen to eliminate Butler Shores, Roy G. Guerrero and ALL OTHER AUSTIN PARKS as potential sites for a stadium. There are many places in Austin to build a stadium that won’t privatize our parks. It’s crucial that we pass the resolution to keep private stadiums out of our parks!
