Audit Polk County Public Schools, Florida for payroll and HR errors.

Audit Polk County Public Schools, Florida for payroll and HR errors.
The Issue
As a former Polk County Public Schools teacher, I questioned my payroll for years. There were discrepancies over and over again with little to no answers as to why. This is a continuing problem for employees of the county. It's time every employee of the county gets answers to these years of questions.
Polk County Public Schools is facing systemic issues with payroll and human resources that are affecting the lives of its dedicated employees. Hundreds of teachers, staff, and administrators face pay discrepancies, delayed checks, and lack of transparency. The stress and hardship caused by these issues are unacceptable and demand immediate attention and resolution.
In 2020 alone, several reports surfaced highlighting payroll errors that affected more than 5% of the workforce, leading to financial strain for those affected. The situation has not improved in recent years, and grievances continue to pile up. Employees have reported consistent issues with underpayment, lost hours, and unexplained deductions that leave them financially vulnerable.
These failures directly affect the morale and financial security of educators and staff whose primary focus should be on providing quality education to our children, not fighting for the compensation they rightfully earned. Ensuring accurate pay and efficiency in human resources is not just about numbers; it's about respecting and valuing the individuals who contribute so significantly to our community.
The Distric must address these problems by conducting an independent audit of its payroll and HR systems. This audit will identify the root causes of these ongoing errors and establish accountability among those responsible. Implementing the suggestions from such an audit will help to enhance the accuracy and reliability of payroll systems, providing a fair workplace for all employees.
We cannot ignore the repeated calls for help from our public school employees, who are already underpaid and overworked. They deserve better. It's time for constructive change to ensure the dedication and efforts of Polk County Public Schools' employees are fairly compensated.
Please join us in urging the Polk County School Board to prioritize transparency and rectify these serious payroll issues. Sign this petition to demand an independent audit that will address these discrepancies and help restore trust and morale within the district.
