According to the Auckland Council, electrification of the rail line between Papakura and Pukekohe may not happen until 2031.  This is unacceptable and shows the people of Pukekohe, and Franklin more generally, are being treated as second-class citizens.  Significant growth is planned for Paerata, Karaka and Pukekohe and it is essential electrification is completed before, not after, this development.  We call on the Auckland Council and the Government to stop dithering and make electrification happen.
