All, thank you so much for your continued support regarding this petition for better commuter parking at Auburn University’s campus. I met with Mr. Andrae today and some representatives of Grab-A-Cart, which is a company that could potentially alleviate the parking issues on campus until some long-term goals are achieved. Their goal is to provide transportation to students using their golf cart service. There are more details to come on that. Also, in January, a survey will be conducted to determine what needs to be done to fix the parking issues on campus. That is where we, the supporters (faculty, staff, commuter students, etc) will come in to voice our concerns to get this issue taken care of. I want you all to know that I will continue to be persistent with this campaign, and I will also keep working with Auburn University Parking Services. They are not our enemy -- contrary to popular belief. Please continue to voice your concerns and share this petition; but also keep in mind that AUPS is working with ME and US to get this situation handled!! The only reason why we don’t have sufficient parking is because Auburn Facilities Management feels that their addition of 2,000 spots over the past several years has sufficed, despite the huge increase in student attendance at Auburn, which technically makes that 2,000 ZERO! One last thing - AUPS has partnered with SGA for the Beat Bama Food Drive. In exchange for ONE can donated, any person can get $2 off their ticket OR can donate cans to put a credit on their account! (see attached photo for details). Thank you all again for your continued and tremendous support.
