It’s because they fear the inevitable fight that we MUST engage in with their manager and politician friends.
From my recent illegal expulsion at Kimball by police while on union payroll to every single time I livestream a protest on a bullhorn, they KNOW members are beginning to see WHO pulls the strings at Local 241/308.
They KNOW that members are starting to believe in themselves as the Power for Positive Change.
Our working conditions are WORSENING by the day. We are going to have to fight like a real union and anything that could inspire us to do it is “against the union” to them.
That is why our president made a video about the false charges (and has not made a video about anything else). That is why they organized this stupid vote and every single elected union rep has today off—with PAY!
It’s not some fake Code of Conduct that I sinned against. That is a decoy to make you look elsewhere.
It’s my rants against their manager friends and my appeal to members that we must face our fears. Vice President Weems disrupted our Executive Bored Meeting to orchestrate this circus and many others followed his lead.
He has very good relationships with CTA mismanagement and misuses awesome power—given to him by us—to guard CTA interests. He thinks he is our elected boss and will punish those who could destabilize those relationships.
After figuring out that I would not capitulate to his Business Unionist shadow fist of fury, he purged me from the Executive Board of Local 308 last month.
He purged me. Not President Pennie. She merely went along. The recording he says he has will prove this to be True—if he chooses to release it.
Vote No On False Charges Against Brother Eric Basir tonight at 11204 s. Western at 6:30 pm. Tell the boss agents to focus their energy on fighting for 33% raises and paid sick days—not on silencing a boogeyman!
Show them that the union belongs to the members. Not to the CTA!
