Petition updateGet angry and get equality! Parliament did it in 2004, they can do it again in 2017!We Demand the Marriage Act of 23 May 2004

Diana SimmondsSydney, Australia

Nov 12, 2017
The result of the non-binding, non-compulsory $120 million vote on equal rights will be made public on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the far right in the federal government have been busy devising a new roadblock to equality: amendments to the current act.
Before 24 May 2004 when the Marriage Act was summarily altered by John Howard and Philip Ruddock, it worked just fine for all Australians. It can work just fine again.
All that is required is the restoration of the wording of one sentence to how it was on 23 May 2004.
No more money, time or goodwill need be wasted on this matter. Equality is the goal, nothing more, nothing less.
Call or email your local MP. Equality for all Australians depends on us.
