My name is Demetrous Magwood I am currently in prison for a crime that I did not commit. In December of 2010 I was wrongfully charged with attempted murder. DPD knowingly manufactured and fabricated false evidence against me and consequently. I was convicted and given 19 years to  30 years for a crime I had no hand in. I have an alibi witness who came to court on my behalf to testify that I was with them during the time the crime occurred. I have documentation that will prove a DPD detective lied on me. Stating he didn’t know how he got my name and later changing his testimony to say he had my name all the while. The most compelling discrepancy occurred while I was on trial! The victim of this crime testified that an officer involved with the case told him that I was the person who shot him. The duty of DPD is to ensure the best of law enforcement abilities and that the proper person is charged for a crime and taken off the streets. They are not suppose to close cases by any means, force pieces to fit where they don’t, fabricate evidence, falsify testimony and take away my life because they can. This is my call for JUSTICE! It’s not justice because I’m in prison for a crime I didn’t commit. It’s not justice that the victim was given false closure for a trauma he endured. It’s not justice that I miss out on my 10 year old son’s life because a “trusted” officer decided to lie. Please listen and hear my story and do whatever you can to see TRUE JUSTICE  be served and return me to the arms of my loving supporting family. Thank you for you time.
