"Imagine not being able to control even a single aspect of your life - eating, eating, sleeping, or being able to go or with whom and when to make a family.
This is the reality for animals in zoos, which are treated as live exhibits. Some are kept in cages very small for them, while others are forced to perform tricks for the pleasure of the public.
Even in the best zoos, and under the most ideal conditions, a life in captivity is NOT life for wildlife! In nature, animals roam for hundreds of miles, chase their prey, revive their children, explore, play and enjoy complex social ties. But in zoos their lives are limited in cages. This limitation and lack of stimuli often lead to abnormal and destructive behavior, known as "stereotypical behavior" • for example, walking in a closed circle, wobbling and mutilation. "are used to giving animals antidepressants, tranquilizers or antipsychotic drugs to conceal their misery.
It is not, therefore, surprising that there are too many desperate animals trying to escape, often with tragic consequences.
Zoos teach people that it is acceptable to interfere with animals and to keep them imprisoned, isolated, condemned in a life of dull, lonely, devoid of all joy and naturalness.
Zoos are an unethical business because they exploit and abuse live creatures for the "entertainment" of the crowd, causing incalculable pain.
Zoos are an outrageous insult to the nature and dignity of animals imprisoned there.
For these and for many other reasons, an end to this barbaric, unethical act must be ended.
We go out in the streets with the request to close the wildlife jail in our homeland and in the hope of inspiring other citizens to do the same.
We claim the basic right to life and freedom and we will not stop until every animal is free !!!
