The Village of Westhampton Beach approved a 30 year lease to construct a 4000 panel commercial solar project on the property it owns at 172 South Country Road Quiogue. This project will require the clear cutting of 13 acres of land in close proximity to the Quantuck Bay and the Quogue Wildlife Refuge. The Village approved the lease for this project without an RFP, without public notice, without any public input and without performing environmental review or considering the environmental impacts of the project. PLEASE SHOW YOUR OPPOSITION TO THIS PROJECT. The neighboring property owners have filed a lawsuit against the Village and it is set for trial in NYS Supreme Court, Riverhead on Friday, January 23rd 9:30am before Judge Hackeling.
