There is a significant population of students at Arizona State University whose spiritual needs are not recognized, accommodated, or provided for. We would like the administration to support a solution to this problem by establishing a fully inclusive interfaith prayer and meditation space on ASU's Tempe campus. This space should be under the purview of Sun Devils Are Better Together, ASU's interfaith student organization, to ensure that it is operated by and staffed with student volunteers who have been trained on interfaith sensitivity and inclusiveness. As America's largest public university with students from over 150 countries around the world, we are obligated to guarantee that all students have equal access to a place for prayer and meditation, and to set an example for other public institutions across the United States.
