Yesterday, the ACM sent a letter to the Office of Science and Technology Policy that expresses regret for signing the original letter. I think this largely satisfies the first goal of our petition, and I'd like to thank you for making this happen.

But I want to use this momentum to push for substantive progress towards Open Access. Over the coming days, I'll try to reach out to leaders of the ACM (along with the other leaders of this effort, in which I played a minor role) and try to ensure real change, including the vote that you called for.
