We’re getting through to the ACM! The president of the ACM just released the following letter about Open Access: ACM Letter

Unfortunately, the ACM message focuses on the tone of the letter and its implications, rather than its explicit content. The ACM signed a letter to preserve embargoes on our research, even though it claims that ACM paper’s aren’t embargoed (at least, if the researchers or SIGs are diligent about posting them publicly). The way to right that wrong is to fight embargoes and remove the paywalls that are already in place, particularly within the ACM digital library.

Let’s keep fighting for true open access. Let’s demand a vote.
