This petition is to request Surrey County Council install a pedestrian crossing(Toucan) on the dual carriageway on the north side of Water Lane - the roundabout by Sainsbury’s as you come off the Shepherd and Flock roundabout.

if you are regular walker on this route you will know the dangers of crossing here. Approaching from Farnham town you are faced with cars accelerating from the Shepherd and Flock roundabout exit. Approaching from the Sainsbury’s side the view up the carriage way is obscured by the vegetation. This route is used by school children, people who work on the industrial estate, Sainsbury’s and the recently built nursing home. On firework nights it is one of the major foot routes into town and to the rugby club. As more houses are built in Weybourne and Badshot Lea the use of this route by pedestrians will increase. For the disabled and physically challenged crossing here is impossible due to the speed of the traffic meaning they have restricted access to the Town from Badshot Lea. Pedestrians crossings change the mindset of drivers in the long term as they become aware of them and adjust their driving to accommodate them. 
This petition is to ask SCC to find the funding to install a pedestrian crossing at this vital part of the footpath network.
