Tribute for Stan
Sep 22, 2021

The CEO of Queens Park Rangers Football Club, Lee Hoos, has this week, agreed to give fans the direct option, of renaming the Ellerslie Road Stand, in honour of our Greatest, Stan Bowles.

At a meeting with fans, last Saturday, 18th of September, prior to the Championship fixture v Bristol City at the KPF, Loftus Road, CEO Lee Hoos, reached this agreement.

The entire database, of 350,000 QPR fans, will this week, be sent an email, containing one question, to be answered by 9th of October, dates tbc.

Should Queens Park Rangers Football Club, rename The Ellerslie Road Stand, in honour of Stan Bowles?

YES or NO.

There will be a comment box, for fans wishing to support their vote with further comment, or explanation.

At this stage, there are no other tributes, to any other player, being considered, in this poll.

A result of 50%, will be sufficient, to present Stan, with the Gold Medal Tribute, he so richly deserves.

However, the level of response to the email poll, is also critical.

The previous survey, canvassing fans for their views on tributes to former players and managers, attracted only 700+ votes, with Stan achieving 283 votes, Gerry Francis and Alan McDonald, over 100 votes each.

CEO Lee Hoos, decided this was indecisive, however the fans at the meeting, suggested access to the survey, and it's promotion, were the main reason, for the low turnout.

The figure of 350,000 fans, being contacted directly, in the next few days via email with this question, also presents a challenging target figure for the response level.

As yet, unknown.

Hence, it is critical, that enough fans respond in time to the email question, despite the miscellaneous, possible pitfalls of oversight, that endanger the vote's success.

In the wake of Jimmy Greaves' death this week, it is surely urgent and most appropriate, for our club, to honour Stan Bowles, whilst he is still alive.

There have most recently been, yet further, dramatic demonstrations, in the form of 10th minute tribute applauses, of the seemingly unanimous, popular support there is, amongst QPR fans at the stadium, to see Stan rewarded, with this highest honour.

Particularly, at the Barnsley and Everton home games.

For the entertainment, achievements, inspiration and love for the club and fans, that he and his family, have shown, since arriving in September 1972, to this day.

The Ellerslie Road Stand is the showpiece stand, for The Master Showman.

It is the highest capacity stand, the central view from the tunnel, dugouts, press, executive and directors' boxes.

In Hoos we Trust.

Over to you, our fellow Superhoops, one more time.

Come On You Rs.

For Stan.

With Love.
