Petition updateAsking QPR FC owners to create a lasting Tribute to Stan Bowles.Silver Medal Tribute for Stan? Plus, CEO invites Stan Tribute campaigners to meeting, 18th September
Tribute for Stan
Sep 8, 2021

QPR FC CEO, Lee Hoos, has invited members of Tribute for Stan (this petition and Facebook), A Stand for Our Stanley (Facebook), The Maverick Team (Twitter) and Ellerslie for Stan (Instagram), to a meeting, prior to the 18th of September, home fixture, versus Bristol City.

To discuss the results of the Tribute Survey, currently being collated.

There is still a very limited time left, for QPR fans, with a Client Reference number, to have their say, in the survey.

Another Supporters Consultation Committee meeting, has also been called, for Monday 20th September, prior to the Carabao Cup 3rd round, home fixture, versus Everton FC.

Remarkably, despite no active campaign, prior to this one, certain QPR social media group leaders, are now actively campaigning, to thwart the 'Gold Medal' tribute, of the Ellerslie Road Stand renaming, for Stan Bowles!

It appears they are very confident and vocal, about obtaining that honour, with the greatest of respect, for Alan McDonald.

With Stan being awarded, what many, including this group, consider to be the 'Silver Medal' Tribute, of the renaming of the Loftus Road Stand.

This latter campaign, would certainly have the advantage, of the age factor, with far greater numbers of QPR fans voting in the survey, who will have seen Alan McDonald play, who were also too young to have seen Stan play.

Of course, it is the club's decision and responsibility to decide the tribute, via a new survey, despite the many historic polls of the fanbase, in which Stan attained more support, than all other candidates combined.

Plus the plethora of tattoos, children's names, clubshop merchandise sold etc etc, evidences of the man's paramount and unique, Iconic and Emblematic, Legendary status and love, from the fans of all generations, undiminished by time.

We nevertheless, remain optimistic and faithful, in anticipation of the meeting with the CEO, that QPR fans yet again, did Stand up for Stan in the survey, and that there will be a decision and announcement very soon thereafter.

10th minute tribute applauses, are also planned, for Bristol City and Everton fixtures, at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, on the 18th and 21st of September.

Please continue to show your support for Stan, the goal is in sight and still achievable!

On the 49th anniversary, of the day that Stan signed for QPR, from Carlisle United.

Thanks to everyone.

Tribute for Stan.
