Just over a week ago, I heard back from the government in terms of their response to the Women and Equalities Committee report titled 'Attitudes towards women and girls in educational settings'.
The government have said that for the first time EVER they will consider our ask for an RSE ( Relationship and Sex Education) extension to post 16 establishments so that young people past Year 11 also have access to lessons on domestic abuse, healthy relationships and other important topics. Before last week we had been told by the government that they would not budge on this issue so this is a great first step !
This is an overdue consideration as this age group has been dangerously left out for far too long,
We hope the government will go all the way through with this consideration and actually implement this simple but potentially life -changing policy change.
