Hybrid makes this project far WORSE for those who live at the two intersections (170th & 182nd) - it is NOT ANY kind of compromise at all! It is just more METRO propaganda.
Just like the propaganda that their “giving“ us a walking path or “giving” us quieter freight tracks. The only noise and disturbance we are worried about is the construction and then ongoing sound of 200 to 300 metro rails each day! This would be the new ROW:

Facts:
The ROW Hybrid is ONLY for emergency response per the two city gov'ts.
Lawndale needs that road open in case of evacuations and for life saving responders to have access. Redondo needs 182nd open for the ambulance facility that's a block away. The framing of it as a mitigation for noise and vibration is manipulative and FALSE.
Also, per the DEIR there is more significant and unavoidable severe impact to air quality and "vibration" (earth pounding to shore aka industrial digging). We are on sand dunes here which is UNSTABLE GROUND. We could go on and on about the infrastructures that are already suffering damage... it's really serious!
So, METRO: get back to us when you find more money to do it correctly – on Hawthorne Boulevard!!
