Ask Govt. to Take immediate action against Delhi NCR's toxic Air pollution
The Issue
My children, like countless others in Delhi NCR, struggle to breathe every day due to the toxic air pollution. As a parent, it breaks my heart to send my kids to school in such hazardous conditions. The air quality index routinely shows alarming levels of pollution, reaching emergency status, and yet, the situation continues without adequate intervention from the authorities.
Air pollution in Delhi NCR has reached critical levels, turning into a public health emergency. Children are coughing, people with asthma are suffering, and the elderly are struggling to breathe. Recent study even showing it leads to auto immune diseases like arthritis .It's deeply concerning that despite the fact that authorities are aware of these health hazards, actions are either delayed or insignificant. Studies by reputed institutions like the Centre for Science and Environment reveal that air pollution directly correlates with rising health problems, decreased lung function, and even premature deaths.
To combat this crisis, I urge the governments of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to take immediate and stringent measures. Banning construction activities during peak pollution periods, controlling vehicular emissions, promoting public transport, implementing afforestation drives, and strictly regulating industries can significantly reduce pollution levels. It's crucial that the authorities prioritize public health and well-being, especially focusing on children, who are most vulnerable to air pollution.
By signing this petition, we demand that our governments treat this as the emergency it truly is and take comprehensive actions to ensure cleaner air for all citizens. Please sign this petition if you believe that the health of our community should come first and that immediate steps should be taken to provide safe, breathable air for everyone.
