Petition updateAsk candidates running for office in CT to support the National Popular Vote
Let's get an end of year surge for Nat'l Popular Vote Petition!

National Popular Vote CT

Dec 28, 2017
Thanks to all of you who signed our petition asking candidates for statewide office and the CT General Assembly to pledge their support for the National Popular Vote Compact. For governor alone, there are now 21 potential candidates, and individuals have started filing paperwork for the 187 General Assembly seats.
Can we ask for your help to get us to 1,000 signatures by the new year? Please share our petition to your networks via social media and email!
We can't overstate how important the NPV is to protecting democracy in America. With GOP-led voter suppression efforts in battleground states, to which the Sessions Justice Department is turning a blind eye, we must make every vote matter.
Just this morning NPR reported on efforts in Alabama that the NAACP estimated led to the disenfranchisement of more than 100,000 voters. An academic study by University of Wisconsin estimated that nearly 17,000 Wisconsin voters were kept from voting in the 2016 election, not much less than Trump's margin of victory that awarded him all 10 of the state's electoral votes.
National Popular Vote CT is hard at work preparing for the upcoming legislative session. Earlier this month we worked with the National Popular Vote national team to expand our coalition of grassroots advocacy organizations. We have been canvassing in key Assembly districts all fall.
Please spread the word and ask your friends to sign on!
Thank you for all you do, and all the best for the new year.
