The initiator of this petition, I have made an earnest attempt to keep you informed. The Southside Community Advisory Board's mission is to educate, empower, and preserve the African-American History in the Asheville, NC area - with a focus on Southside a.k.a. East of the Riverway. The Mayor of the City of Asheville, Asheville City Council, and Parks and Recreation received the petition referencing Walton Street Pool/Park. They have responded to the request and have committed to inclusion in making final decisions referencing the many changes within the Southside area - to include Walton Street Park/Pool and the Wesley Grant Center. I encourage you to complete the attached survey, but more importantly, I encourage you to attend the January 31, 2017 community meeting for more specific details. No one person or small group can speak for the whole community. The community, collectively, must speak to bring about desired change. Please continue to be provide your input and consider being more active in the different community engagement processes, boards, and etc. Thank you.
