Contacted MP Yvonne Jones and MHA Perry Trimper, my two representatives in provincial and federal politics, the Human Rights Commission and the Citizen's Rep about the government's theft of my taxes. The Citizen's Rep were the only group to respond. After reviewing the matter, they said that since the office that seized my taxes is acting as though nothing has happened in the last few years, they can plead ignorance. They can ignore their own policies regarding hardship and poverty and pretend that nothing happened. Otherwise they might have to accept a measure of responsibility for everything that has occurred. Pleading ignorance is par for the course for the province of NL. Ignorance is bliss is practically a rule of life here.
