Petition to Establish Curbside Mail Delivery Service in Arizona City, Arizona

The Issue

Arizona City Residents deserve control of their future, a say in what’s needed for a better quality of life in their community, questions answered and input on how to grow as a community in a fast growing County although it is unincorporated.

There are so many disadvantages of not having home mail delivery and having to have a P.O box and it listed as a mailing address instead of a physical home address. It has gotten to the point that they no longer even have available P.O boxes for new residents because they are all occupied. They are not able to meet the needs of the community! This has created a hardship in the community for far too long. Residents do not enjoy driving to a post office in a congested unsafe parking lot, waiting in long lines that are time consuming and inconvenient, just to receive their mail!  Whenever residence have issues with deliveries, the employees continue to give indirect information (to residents and local news reporters), are rude and have a don't care attitude "That's how we do things here". So many items are carelessly lost, returned to sender, marked undeliverable or sent for disposal. Residents then have to hassle with sender and waist more time and money trying to resolve the matter, sometimes loosing out on what they had originally purchased. It is a nightmare overall and a headache. It is sad to see residents, elderly and disabled trying to rush their way on foot, bike or wheelchair across Battalia in busy traffic to get to the Post Office. So many reasons why it's ineffective and continues to be a major issue and setback for the Community. Parcel lockers are never utilized although available, all packages including smaller ones are replaced with a pick up slip which is placed inside P.O boxes where small package could have fit or been placed in the parcel locker for pick up outside of business hours,  instead of waiting in a dreadful line.  Some residents who are able to  have had to pay hundreds yearly for a P.O Box elsewhere, 2O minutes away in another city or even further away to avoid these issues and that is not right!

Not all residents have the ability to or want to inconveniently go to the Contracted Station, have a busy schedule, need items asap sometimes outside of business hours and need this basic vital service in their community. Other surrounding areas literally across the street in Pinal County receive this service and it is ridiculous AZC has not had curbside mail delivery established yet. Although unincorporated this service can and should become available! Arizona City has all the characteristics and methods to provide adequate service. The existing method "Group E P.O Box service" is not sufficient and is very disappointing as the majority of residents would agree. This crucial service is needed! Please help in petitioning to establishing a more effective, efficient and organized method of mail delivery service in Arizona City and give the community what is deserves.

There is absolutely no reason to not have curbside mail delivery service established in Arizona City, Arizona. It has negatively affected  residents in the community for far too long and it has clearly been an ongoing issue for many decades. Especially now with all the new businesses, homes and residents in Arizona City. There are other options for part-time visitors/residents, which is the minority. For example; Mail can be held at Local Post Offices or forwarded to the mailing address of their primary residence.

Reach out to the district 4 county supervisor Jeffery McClure and E-mail your concerns to him so he knows how this has negatively affected residents. An E-mail with this petition has been shared to Jeffrey McClure so he should be well aware of this issue and show many have supported this petition.

Establishing curbside mail delivery is needed ASAP! According to Casa Grande USPS Management "It was voted in years ago but those conducting the vote waited for part-time "Snowbird/Winter Visitor" residents to come back and re-voted it out". Several years have passed, still no change and vague answers! We no longer want the same US Postal Service Contract Station who has held the bid for decades to continue providing inadequate faulty service to the community and for USPS to continue to ignore the issues! This current method is outdated! This has not been done with the best interest of the community and has been proven over and over again! It's time for change!

"Votes were held 5-7 years ago, majority opted for the P.O Box service as the preferred mode of delivery.  Many of the part-time "Snowbirds/Winter Visitors" did not want street delivery since they were ONLY there for 4-6 months and didn't want mail collecting in their mailboxes on the street, the presumption being that it would invite mailbox break-ins and theft."

Arizona City's population is rapidly growing especially now with developers building new homes, transformative companies being built and full-time residents/families relocating to the area. The current method of mail service is clearly outdated and insufficient. It is critical to the community to get curbside mail delivery established. It is disappointing that this adverse material fact is not being shared with new residents before relocating and that those who advocate (simply bring up the topic) for change and want the facts known are bullied, threatened and blocked out from community social media groups Facebook etc. "Should have done your homework" as one of the US Postal Service Contract Station Managers likes to say is not the answer. It is careless, rude inconsiderate and unprofessional!

Let your voices be heard! Don't let those few against the change or those profiting off this contract continue to try to intimidate or silence us. They will continue to hide the facts and hope the topic eventually fades away like it has in the past. That is why they continue blocking the questions about the topic, giving vague answers, not informing the community about it, hiding facts and not making public how and when the votes were conducted or having a revote. This needs to change!

Many no longer attend the board meetings because of the "mob mentality" and frustration of no change but together we can make a difference. Look up the Pinal County Supervisor meeting that are posted on YouTube, attend the AZC board meetings and encourage them to be live or posted for all to be informed especially those that can not attend (they are held during the day on weekdays when most people are working) or feel comfortable attending.

Along with this petition are 2 links from Local News Articles regarding this issue As well as other issues in AZC. I encourage you to look up the other current issues in AZC and stay informed.

Let's continue informing others and advocating for this to finally be done. Arizona City deserves and needs this change! Pinal County especially Arizona City is growing and transforming so why accept this outdated method which is inefficient. We shouldn't have to settle for this contracted post office.
