Lift the ban on the Never Seconds blog about school dinners
Lift the ban on the Never Seconds blog about school dinners
The Issue
Jamie Oliver, School Meals Manifesto: "...if our kids are also getting a tasty, nutritious meal at lunchtime, their prospects are even better. It’s been proven time and time again during the last five years that a healthy school meal improves a child’s ability to learn and do well at school. We can’t ignore that; we must continue to feed our children better, even better. We must invest in our kids; they are the future and they deserve it.”
With her dad's camera, with the knowledge and approval of her parents, VEG took a photo of her school dinner every day and posted it to her blog. She started getting sent photos of school dinners being eaten by other kids all over the world, and sharing one of those photos every day.

She used the blog to raise money for a charity, Mary's Meals:

Today (14th June 2012) Argyll and Bute council ordered VEG to stop taking photos of her school dinner because her blog, Never Seconds, was attracting too much attention.

They're embarrassed. That's not a good reason.
Ask Argyll and Bute Council to lift their ban on VEG taking photos of her school dinners for her blog. It's a great blog, it's a great idea, and if it shines a revealing light on how bad Scottish school dinners can be, that's all to the good.
